Therapies

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a practical, skills-based approach used by psychologists to treat a range of mental health difficulties and concerns including anxiety, depression, chronic pain, grief and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  CBT focuses on how an individual’s thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect their feelings, and behaviour (their actions). This therapy assists the client in identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours and teaches adaptive coping skills to deal with different concerns.

Blended care approach

Wren Psychology Group offers access to internet-delivered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (iCBT) programs and resources supporting outside-of-session learning and skills building.

Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioural therapy designed to help you manage your behaviour and regulate emotions. DBT focuses on four skill areas: distress tolerance, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and mindfulness.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a cognitive-behavioural found to be effective in the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). CPT focuses on thoughts surrounding the trauma, particularly maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that may perpetuate symptoms.
